Textured Vessels

This collection of large hand built vessels have an organic, almost primal quality, with their heavily textured surfaces and bold forms. The greenish glaze has a raw, earthy feel, reminiscent of moss or lichen growing on stone, and creates a sense of natural aging or weathering. The dark, vertical streaks running down the surface add an element of mystery, contrasting with the brighter, almost luminous green. This effect emphasizes the process and texture, connecting to the idea of layering, erosion, and natural forces acting on the surface.

The small, knobby protrusions covering the top half of the vessels evoke a sense of growth or emergence, similar to spiked seed pods or ancient fossils. Together, these elements give the pieces a rugged, biomorphic feel, as if they are artifacts from a prehistoric or otherworldly natural environment. These vessels seem to balance the line between organic and architectural, grounding them in a way that feels both ancient and alive.
